General Terms of Use

These General Terms of Use are available at any time at: excellolab.org/en/general-terms-of-use/
They set out the rules governing access to our platforms on the Excello website and its subdomains, hosting educational digital content (hereinafter referred to as “the platform”).
By using this platform, you acknowledge, in your capacity as user – teacher and/or legal guardian of the minor student – that you know the terms, accept them without reservation and comply with them.
The data controller reserves the right, at their sole discretion and without prior notice, to modify, delete or add information to these “General Terms of Use”, at any time, in particular to take into account any legal, jurisprudential, editorial and/or technical developments. The prevailing version is the one accessible online.
It is therefore recommended that you regularly consult the latest version of these General Terms of Use.
ARTICLE 1 – USER GUIDELINES AND PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Excello’s mission is to conduct research, develop, and disseminate knowledge in the field of education, with a focus on improving reading and mathematics learning. Excello creates and provides associated educational resources, in particular by using new technologies.
1/ Access to the Educational Applications Created by Excello
The activities are available 24/7:
- Via Excello mobile applications, available on the Android and Apple app stores for use on Android 5.1+ and iOS 11+ tablets/smartphones. For optimal service, we recommend using a tablet.
- Via a web application, using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on Windows, Ubuntu, and Android, and Safari on macOS and iOS.
The application may be used by a teacher who creates an account for their class, or by a legal guardian who creates an account for their child.
Once the application is installed, an internet connection is not mandatory. However, certain features will be disabled (voice-to-text transcription and handwriting recognition).
If the application is used offline (without internet access), learning records (exercise results) are stored on the device and will only be sent to the platform once an internet connection is reestablished.
2/ Access to Platforms Created by Excello
For a first-time use of our platforms, you must:
Create an adult account (legal guardian/teacher).
Refer to our privacy policy for full details on how we handle collected data.

Our team will do its utmost to assist and resolve any problems as quickly as possible.
4/ Required Devices
Your device must meet the following specifications to ensure proper use of Excello applications:

Processor: 4 cores at 1.4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Recommended (for optimal performance)
OS: PC / Android / iOS (Chrome, Firefox, Safari ≥ 14)
Processor: 4 cores at 2 GHz
Memory: 2 GB RAM
ARTICLE 2 – LICENSE OF USE
Access to the platform grants you a non-exclusive right to use it, whether privately or collectively.
By using this platform, you accept these General Terms of Use without reservation.
All content published on the platform—including, but not limited to, text, photographs, illustrations, graphics, infographics, maps, videos, music, icons, and software (hereinafter “the Content”)—is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 .
Pursuant to Article L. 122-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code, any full or partial representation or reproduction made without the author’s consent—or that of their successors or assigns—is unlawful. The same applies to translation, adaptation, transformation, arrangement, or reproduction by any means or process.
Please also note that infringement of copyright constitutes an offense in France, punishable by three years’ imprisonment and a fine of 300,000 euros.
Additionally, the Intellectual Property Code imposes the same penalties of three years’ imprisonment and a 300,000-euro fine for any unauthorized recording, reproduction, communication, or making available to the public—whether paid or free—of a performance, phonogram, videogram, or program, if such authorization is required from the rights holder.
ARTICLE 3 – LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
You bear sole responsibility for any damage or loss—direct or indirect, material or immaterial—wherever its cause, basis, or origin might lie in your use of the platform or that of anyone authorized by you to use it. “Use” here includes any use of the platform, whether fraudulent or non-fraudulent.
Minors may access the platform only if they have obtained prior permission from their parents (or the person exercising parental authority) to do so and to provide any information and email addresses by which they may receive communications. By registering, minors confirm they have obtained such prior authorization, which is explicitly required during the platform’s registration process.
The platform’s publishers undertake to use their best efforts to secure access to, consultation of, and use of the platform.
ARTICLE 4 – APPLICATION OF FRENCH LAW
The rules governing use of the platform and all the content and information it contains are subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, only the French courts shall have jurisdiction.
ARTICLE 5 – CONDITIONS FOR CHANGING THE PRIVACY POLICY
The site’s publisher reserves the right to modify the privacy policy to ensure its compliance with prevailing legislation and practices.
